  • A classic type of jewellery of the Victorian era, micro mosaics are both stunning and fascinating.

These pieces originated in Italy, and saw great popularity in the early Victorian era. The style developed throughout the Victorian period, before falling out of fashion in the late 1800s.

This is a highly intricate example, with small pieces of glass only parted by thin, delicate wiring, contributing to the pattern. The pattern boasts a great range of colours including turquoise, light pink, green, yellow, red, and a beautiful blue - all colours commensurate with classic antique Italian culture.

The mosaic of this dainty brooch also includes a Forget Me Not pattern, a highly symbolic flower of the Victorian era, symbolising longing, loyalty and love.

The brooch is made from non-precious base metals, as many pieces of the time were.
